Mrs Cross’s assembly on Monday morning was about Michaelmas Day, the quarter day which is TODAY! Have you spotted where Mrs Cross has planted the Michaelmas daisies yet? This week classes have been cooking and gardening. Year 5 are working hard on their Shakespeare ready for 31st October, when they will be performing at the New Alexandra Theatre. Tickets will be available for parents.
The weather is getting colder – please make sure children bring a waterproof coat to school, for playtimes and for outdoor activities and visits.
Secondary School Places
Thank you to all the parents who attended our coffee morning on Tuesday about applications for secondary school. We had presentations from Jewellery Quarter Academy, Lordswood Boys’ School, George Dixon Academy, Hillcrest and City Academy. You must complete the application by 31st October. If you need further advice, see Mrs Downs. There is an information pack available – please ask.
HARVEST ASSEMBLY: MONDAY 2ND OCTOBER
We will be having an assembly for Harvest on Monday. Please bring a packet, jar or tin of food that we can donate to the Foodbank to help local families. There will be a box in each class.
Progress meetings will take place as follows:
Y1C (Mrs Cook) Wednesday 4th October 2017
Y5SM (Miss Murray) Monday 9th October
Y1T (Miss Tuki) Wednesday 11th October
Y4C (Mrs Chauhan) Thursday 12th October
Appointments will be available all day and you will receive a letter in advance of the meeting. There is a full list of dates on the school website under the “Parents” tab.
Half term is only three weeks away! Please note that school is closed for children on Friday 20th October ……
CELEBRATIONS ASSEMBLIES ARE EVERY FRIDAY AT 9AM
6L were the hosts today and next week (6th October) will be 6R.
Come along and sample our cooking!
Breakfast club is open from 8am every morning – cost £1 per child. Please speak to someone in the office if you would like your child to attend.
Stay and Play
This is at 9am on Thursday mornings for parents and pre-nursery age children. Please see Mrs Downs for more information, or come along to the Community House.
Traffic and parking
Please do not park on double yellow lines or the yellow zig-zagged area. There is parking in streets nearby and across the park, which will keep the area much safer for everyone.
The school has vacancies for lunchtime supervisors and class teachers. Please come to the school office for an application pack or look on the school website
