Mrs Berrow’s assemblies were about St George’s Day on Monday 23rd April. We talked about St George’s bravery and how he protected others.

There are lots of events happening in the Summer Term. Please look at the dates later in the newsletter. We would like as many parents as possible to attend on Sports mornings and Parents’ afternoon!

Y6 SATs: 14-17th May 2018

Please remember that Y6 pupils will be taking SATs in this week and that they all need to be here every day. We are offering a free breakfast club to all Y6 pupils in that week.

Educational visits and events

Y4 will be visiting Cadbury World on Tuesday 8th May.

Y1 are going to the West Midlands Safari Park on Thursday 17th May.

On Friday 18th May “Portals to the Past” will be visiting Y3 for their project on Stone Age.

Reception are going to Dudley Zoo on Thursday 24th May.

Sports mornings (weather permitting)

Tuesday 22nd May: Phase 3 (Y4,5,6).

Wednesday 23rd May: Phase 1 (Nursery and Reception).

Thursday 24th May: Phase 2 (Y1, 2, 3).

Transition day is on 4th July, when pupils spend the day with their new teacher for September 2018.

Parents’ afternoon is on Wednesday 11th July: come and celebrate the end of the year with us.

AT GLADSTONE

This organisation is running functional skills classes for parents on Wednesday mornings in the Community House. Please see Mrs Downs is you would like to join.

Coffee morning

The next coffee morning will be on 1st May and will be hosted by “Suited for Success”, who support unemployed women with finding work. Please ask Mrs Downs if you are interested or just come along.

Stay and Play …

There won’t be a session on 3rd May as the house is being used for the voting. Please come on 10th May.

Election Day- 3rd May

Please note that school will be open as usual on Thursday 3rd May 2018. Voting will take place in the Community House.

Summer Term 2018:

Monday 16th April-Friday 20th July 2018

Half Term: Monday 28th May-Friday 1st June 2018

Autumn term 2018 starts on Monday 3rd September. We will let you know about staff training days soon.

7th May is a BANK HOLIDAY. SCHOOL WILL BE CLOSED.

Please make sure you can come on these dates. Teachers are released from class so that they can meet with you and are available before and after school.

English classes for parents run by BEEAS are now taking place in the Community House on Monday and Thursday mornings and lead to a recognised qualification. If you would like to join, please see Mrs Downs.
